Cyber Security and Digital Policy

Today, information technologies such as computers, smartphones, tablets and smart home technology are ubiquitous. They change the way we live and work – whether we like it or not. At the same time, digital transformation gives us unprecedented new freedoms. It creates new opportunities for participation and promotes democratisation. However, this cannot work without a set of rules. Even the exercise of freedom must be governed by rules. The digital policy of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI) aims to enable as many people as possible to benefit from the manifold opportunities afforded by digital transformation while minimising the risks involved.
