Protecting Critical Infrastructure

Protecting critical infrastructure is a key task of government and industry and a central element of Germany’s security policy. Generally speaking, Germany’s critical infrastructure is very well protected.
The primary responsibility for critical infrastructure protection lies with the plant operators. They must protect their critical infrastructure from threats caused by natural disasters, terrorism, sabotage or human error. To respond flexibly to the various threats, it is becoming increasingly important to focus on the resilience of critical infrastructures.
